Who We Are
In response to the recent and on-going pandemic, a new group formed here at UUC to share coping techniques with one another. We talk about what's "feeding our souls" and keeping us grounded right now. In a world that feels more uncertain and unprecedented with each passing month, we feel that it is important to support one another. Anyone is welcome to join us on Fridays at 1pm on Zoom.
If you have any questions about Spiritual Potpourri, please reach out to the organizer.

Understanding Moral Injury and How We Can Help Those Who Suffer the Effects
In this presentation we will discuss Moral Injury: What it is and what it isn’t and how we might support others who are struggling with the aftermath of violence which often leaves behind debilitating guilt, shame and self condemnation secondary to inflicting violence State-sanctioned or otherwise, on others.
“Both haunt our society.” – Beverly Ward, Ph.D
Our guest speaker Cecilia (Cece) Yocum is a member of Tampa Monthly Meeting and has been a Quaker for over forty years. She received her Ph.D. in psychology from the Ohio State University in 1978. She has over 40 years of experience working with individuals, families, communities and professional groups. Cece has also worked overseas with community-based trauma healing programs that included ex combatants in Rwanda, Burundi, and Colombia, as a part of Friends Peace Teams.
Based on her experience working with service members in the US and soldiers in other countries, Cece was further inspired by the work of Quaker House. She consulted with them to develop a manual “Help for Moral Injury: Strategies and Intervention,” which Quaker House published.
